THE SAKI-HIKARI SECRET
Each of the Saki-Hikari diets contain a probiotic, beneficial living microorganism referred to in Japan as Hikari-Germ. This strain of Bacillus bacteria, which when eaten, proliferates itself in the koi’s intestine and brings about many benefits. The result is extraordinary enzymatic activity creating improved assimilation of the available nutrition which translates to more rapid growth and reduced waste related water quality issues. While the use of this type of baceria is not new (in human foods similar bacteria is used in yogurt) the benefits to aquatic livestock is now being fully recognized as a result of the introduction of Saki-Hikari.
The Saki-Hikari Process
Stage 1 – When a Saki-Hikari diet is eaten the beneficial bacteria become active and germinate in the intestine of the fish.
The beneficial living microorganisms in Saki-Hikari have four unique transitory stages.
Stage 2 - The beneficial bacteria multiplies and increases the level of extremely efficient digestive enzymes. This enzyme activity significantly improves the koi’s ability to utilize the available nutrition and significantly improves assimilation.
Stage 3 – The beneficial bacteria becomes the priority bacteria in the digestive tract of the fish robbing nutrition that bad bacteria need to survive.
